A California man is free on bond following his arrest this week in connection with a child molestation investigation by Hall County sheriff’s detectives that began in April. Lester Allen Mundall, 66, of Monrovia, California, turned himself in at the Hall County Jail Tuesday.
Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Mundall on July 29 following an investigation into a report he had sexually molested a Gainesville girl. The victim’s father reported the assault to a sheriff’s deputy on April 28; the case was assigned to an investigator the following day.
“Investigators determined Mundall and the victim, a girl under the age of 16, knew one another,” sheriff’s office spokesman Derreck Booth said Thursday. “They also determined when Mundall visited the victim’s family in 2019, he touched the child’s breasts on at least one occasion.”
Mundall was posted $27,700 bond and was released from jail on Wednesday evening.
