This year’s Equality Fest struggling to survive

Gainesville’s Equality Fest, scheduled for Saturday on the Midland Greenway, is in danger of cancellation, according to a GoFundMe account that has been established by the organizers who are seeking help from the public to keep it alive.

“Equality Fest was created with a simple belief: everyone deserves a place where they feel welcomed, celebrated, and part of their community,” says the GoFundMe posting.

“This year has been financially difficult for individuals, families, small businesses, and companies alike. Unfortunately, when budgets get tighter, events like Equality Fest are often among the first places where sponsorship and corporate support are reduced or eliminated. For a grassroots nonprofit like ours, that has a very real impact.”

The fundraiser had already exceeded its $5,000 goal by nearly a thousand dollars as of early today. Fundraiser by Leslie Fisher : Help Save Equality Fest 2026 in Gainesville
