A student at Dawson County Junior High School was injured during an incident at the school Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
“During the altercation, a knife was produced,” a sheriff’s office social media posting says, but it’s unclear whether the student’s injuries were caused by the weapon.
“The DCSO began investigating the incident, and the Department of Juvenile Justice was contacted,” the posting goes on to say. “One juvenile was detained and another juvenile was treated by the school nurse for minor injuries and turned over to their guardian.
“The investigation remains open and ongoing.”
