Another Hall County sheriff’s deputy has resigned while under investigation as part
of the agency’s audit of its Flock Safety system. Brandon Sanders submitted his resignation Friday.
According to the investigation, Sanders used the Flock system several times to search for various
license plates while he was off duty. The searches were not authorized by the sheriff’s office. Sanders
had been employed by the agency since Dec. 2021.
The violations will be referred to the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)
Council for review.
Sanders’ resignation came shortly before Sheriff Gerald Couch made his first public comments on the Flock issue which has seen several officers resign or be fired in recent weeks. (See separate story.)
The sheriff’s office also said Fridy that the audit of the system had been completed.
