The suspect in the shooting last weekend of an 18‑year‑old woman in White County has been arrested in Habersham County.
The victim, meanwhile, who was shot in the face, is recovering after being taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment. The shooting occurred on Lothridge Road early Sunday.
Investigators quickly identified the suspected shooter as Andrew Landrum Waddell of Cleveland, according to the White County Sheriff’s Office, and a warrant was issued for his arrest for aggravated assault.
With assistance from deputies in Habersham and Banks counties, Waddell was located at a family member’s home in Baldwin. A search warrant was obtained, and the Banks County SWAT Team took him into custody without incident.
He is being held without bond.
