HCSO: Eviction turns into pot bust

Hidden in plain sight? A 28-year-old Gainesville man’s stash of pot was discovered Tuesday by Hall County sheriff’s deputies who were conducting an eviction at his apartment, the sheriff’s office reported Thursday. Christopher Andrew Bush has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Here’s how it all came about, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams:

“The arrest came as Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) civil service deputies were conducting an eviction at an apartment on Foothills Parkway in Gainesville. As deputies were clearing the apartment, they observed a package of marijuana in plain view on a closet floor.

“HCSO narcotics investigators were called to the scene and executed a search warrant on the premises. They seized the package of marijuana (approximately one-half pound). Bush, who was at the apartment at the time of the eviction, was placed in custody and transported to the Hall County Jail.”

He posted a bond of $11,200 and was released from jail on Wednesday.
