A 38‑year‑old Gainesville woman remained in the Hall County Jail at last check after turning herself in on fraud and theft charges involving her 74-year-old client.
Deputies say the victim first reported a fraudulent $500 credit card transaction in early July. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams says investigators determined money had been withdrawn from the victim’s bank account and transferred to a Cash App account linked to Quenisha Shantel Morrison’s nickname. An arrest warrant was issued for Morrison for financial transaction card fraud.
A month later, according to Williams, the same victim reported the theft of five rings from her home. Williams said investigators traced the rings to a local pawnshop and determined Morrison had sold them. Two of the rings were recovered, and a warrant was issued for theft by taking.
Morrison remains in jail with no bond on two court-issued warrants. Her bond on the sheriff’s office charges is set at $11,400.
