The GBI has arrested and charged Whitni Brooke Davis, 35, of Cornelia, with five counts of Computer Forgery. Davis is the former City of Baldwin Staff Accountant.
On February 11 the Baldwin Police Department requested the GBI to conduct a forgery investigation involving Davis. During the investigation, agents determined that Davis created, altered, or deleted information on several documents in an effort to purchase a $1.7 million home. She utilized the city’s bank account as proof of funds for the home, the GBI says.
Davis was arrested on Monday and booked into the Habersham County Detention Center, becoming the second Habersham for government official in Habersham arrested in recent days.
On Monday, the GBI announced the arrest of Jeremy Ron Dundore on two counts of Theft by Deception and one count of First-Degree Forgery. He is the former Information Technology (IT) Director for the City of Cornelia.
