Scooter operator suffers serious injuries in deer-related accident

Hall County sheriff’s deputies responded to a serious-injury motor scooter accident in Chestnut Mountain late Saturday night, a sheriff’s office spokesman said Tuesday.

Hall County Fire Rescue took the scooter operator, Mark Anthony Holland, 61, of Braselton, to a hospital for treatment following the wreck on Winder Highway.

“At approximately 11:10 p.m., the scooter left the south side of the highway near Howington Road,” spokesman Derrick Booth said. “Holland, who was wearing a helmet, laid the scooter down off the roadway. He told deputies he swerved to miss a deer in the road.”

Deputies cited him for no insurance.
