Additional streets, new commercial development on GCC agenda

Gainesville City Council (GCC) members will be asked to okay adding streets in two subdivisions to the city’s inventory and giving their blessings to a new commercial enterprise on the city’s southside.

The streets that could become part of the city are in the Cypress Park and White Oak Park subdivisions. They are now considered private and are not maintained by the city.

In addition, the council will consider an annexation and rezoning request from Majors Management LLC for a two-acre site at Athens Highway and Monroe Drive. The firm plans to build a convenience store at that location.
