Hall Recovers will take place Monday on International Overdose Awareness Day to honor those lost to substance use disorder and those in recovery.
Speakers Alexa Moody, Adam Moody, and Reese Daniel will share personal stories of addiction and recovery. The event will conclude with a candlelight vigil for loved ones lost to substance use disorder.

Hall County offers a range of recovery programs and services for individuals and families affected by substance use disorder.
J’s Place Recovery Center, also known as the Jeffrey Dallas Gay Jr. Recovery Center, provides peer‑driven support for people in recovery and their families. The center offers one‑on‑one peer coaching, employment assistance, connections to treatment facilities, and hosts support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Veterans Recovery Support, and Parent Support.
The H.E.L.P. Program, operated through the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, provides alternatives to incarceration for individuals with mental health and co‑occurring substance use disorders. The program links participants to community‑based treatment resources and requires full participation in therapeutic interventions, medication management, and peer support.
Several treatment centers operate in Hall County, including Angel House of Georgia, Lanier Treatment Center, Twin Lakes Recovery Center Gainesville, and Atlanta VAMC Oakwood CBOC. These facilities provide outpatient, detoxification, and intensive treatment services, with approaches ranging from cognitive behavioral therapy to motivational interviewing.
Avita Detox Gainesville, run by Avita Community Partners, offers detox, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential services. The center provides dual diagnosis treatment for co‑occurring mental health conditions and accepts Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, and private insurance.
Hall County also operates a Drug Court program, which began in 2001. The accountability court provides intensive treatment and supervision for individuals with substance use disorders, combining vocational, educational, and spiritual components with evidence‑based therapy.
