Has another serial shoplifter been nabbed in S. Hall?

Oakwood Police have arrested a woman for shoplifting at the town’s Walmart, and they say she may be responsible for thefts from other Walmarts.

“Walmart Loss Prevention conducted an internal investigation finding that this suspect had completed multiple shoplifting thefts over the time frame listed in the report,” Det. Lt. Stewart Webb said Thursday. “The stolen items varied between household goods and grocery items. The total value of the thefts was under $500. This case is still active; more Walmart locations may have been targeted by the suspect.”

44-year-old Cynthia Jo Tolbert is facing eight charges of shoplifting from the Walmart store and one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. She is being held at the Hall County Jail of bonds totaling $5,520 and she’s also being held for authorities in Cartersville.

Tolbert was arrested last Saturday. The Oakwood Walmart thefts occurred between June 9 and August 15, according to Lt. Webb.
