A Smyrna woman has been arrested in connection with a June aggravated battery case in South Hall that began on the shores of Lake Lanier and ended in a nearby convenience store parking lot. The sheriff’s office says Angel Marie Reynolds, 22, is the second and final suspect in the case.
Hall County sheriff’s deputies picked Reynolds up last Friday at the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center. She was transported to the Hall County Jail, where she was booked on one count of aggravated battery, a Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said Tuesday.
According to investigators, Reynolds and Shahada Hijah Diamond Hamad, 22, of Atlanta, were among three women who traveled from Atlanta to Lake Lanier Islands on June 14 with a 35-year-old woman who was driving them. When the woman driving told the others it was time to return to Atlanta, an argument broke out and continued after she pulled into the QuikTrip at Gainesville Highway and Lanier Islands Parkway shortly after 2:30 a.m.
“Reynolds and Hamad then assaulted the woman, breaking her arm, before leaving the scene in the vehicle, which was a rental,” Derreck Booth said. “The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton for treatment.”
Hamad was booked into the Hall County Jail Aug. 4 and is also charged with aggravated battery. She remains in jail without bond.
Reynolds is was being held on $11,200 bond Wednesdy afternoon.
