Captain Barry Shaw of the Hall County Marshal’s Office has been named Interim Director of Development Services following the resignation of Kristie Turner Aug. 11.
Shaw has served with the Marshal’s Office since 2019, where he oversaw Business Licenses for nearly a year, and previously served as interim director of Development Services from December 2024 through May 2025. Prior to joining Hall County Government, Shaw spent nearly 30 years with the Atlanta Police Department, including serving as commander of APD’s Code Enforcement Section.
“Barry already understands the department and the work,” Interim County Administrator John Gentry said. “That familiarity will allow us to maintain momentum while we evaluate the department’s long-term leadership needs.”
