Storms a-comin’?

Our sunny, hot weather of the past few days will give way to increasing chances for rain over the next couple of days and maybe some stormy weather.

“Following a brief period of clear and dry weather, chances for showers and thunderstorms return to round off the week,” a weather service advisory says. “Some storms on Thursday and Friday may become strong to severe, and capable of producing gusty to damaging winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall. A weekend cold frontal passage will usher in drier conditions to start next week.”

The best chance for any storms today is 2:00 this afternoon through midnight. Gainesville and all of north Georgia are included in the Level 1 (out of 1-5) chance, the least likely on the weather service scale.
