Deputies said they stopped Waller around 8:50 at Old Cornelia Highway and Latty Road for a defective headlight. While speaking with him, deputies said they noticed a fake driver’s license inside the vehicle. A search uncovered another fake ID, approximately 42 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, an open alcoholic beverage and additional unopened alcohol, they added.
Investigators from the sheriff’s office special investigations unit responded to assist with the case. Authorities said the mushrooms had a street value of about $500.
Waller was charged with possession of psilocybin with intent to distribute. He was also cited for open container, underage alcohol possession, possession of fake identification and a headlight violation. He was booked into the Hall County Jail and remained there without bond Monday afternoon.
