A 57-year-old man, Scott Lewis Whitlock, remained in the Hall County Jail early Saturday following his arrest by Gainesville Police Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokeswoman Jessica Van said an officer originally stop Whitlock, who was riding a bicycle, “in the area of Pearl Nix Pkwy and Atlanta Hwy after witnessing him ride his bicycle on the sidewalk.” She added that when the officer was attempting to detain him, Whitlock allegedly began to resist.
“During the course of the contact, it was discovered Whitlock had two outstanding probation violation warrants for his arrest out of Hall County.”
Whitlock was jailed for resisting arrest ($1,422 bond) and violating the city’s bicycle ordinance ($167 bond). There is no bond for the two probation violation charges.
