*Senator Raphael Warnock is urging the EPA to assist smaller communities facing challenges from data centers. In a recent letter, he called on the agency to provide guidance and best practices to protect clean water access, especially after OpenAI announced plans for a $20 billion data center in Effingham County. Warnock highlighted that some data centers make unreasonable water demands on under-resourced areas.
*Meanwhile, Senator Jon Ossoff is gaining support as a contender for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028. An Emerson College Polling survey shows Ossoff tied for third with New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Ossoff, however, said recently that he has no interest in running in ’28.
*An Albany law firm says it will represent Jeffrey Kinzer, who faces 29 counts of aggravated assault and 30 counts of firearm possession for allegedly shooting at a neighbor’s home during a racially charged interaction in June while wearing body armor. The victims are worried about Kinzer, who was released on bond last week, as they live on the same street and fear for their safety. Kinzer’s bond conditions include staying at least half a mile away from the victim’s home.
