A 35-year-old man, already on probation, remained in the Hall County Jail Tuesday afternoon, in connection with a shoplifting spree at a single store.
Jackie Tyrone Phillip Smith is being held on a $1,300 bond on the shoplifting charges but without bond on the charge of probation violation. Smith was arrested about noon Friday, a spokesman for the Gainesville Police Department said Tuesday afternoon in releasing the report.
“Subject allegedly took $667 worth of misc items from Walmart on multiple occasions.,” he wrote in an email.
