A Gainesville man arrested earlier this year on sexual exploitation charges involving a 14-year-old
Texas girl now faces more charges involving the girl and five additional victims.
Alex Masato Bohac, who turned 20 while in custody at the Hall County Jail, was arrested on
Thursday at his residence on Cove Overlook Road in northeastern Hall County.
At that time, he was charged with 16 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, all charges
related to the Texas victim. He has remained in custody with no bond.
When investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Internet Crimes Against Children
(ICAC) Unit arrested Bohac, they seized several electronic devices belonging to him. Over the past
four months, investigators conducted forensic processing of the devices, locating more than 12,000
video and screen recordings.
The processing of the devices led to 25 additional counts
of felony sexual exploitation of a minor. Ten counts involve the persuading and coercion of
child victims to engage in sexually explicit conduct; nine counts involve the actual production of
child sexual abuse material (CSAM); and six counts involve the grooming of the child victims for
indecent purposes.
Investigators said Bohac made initial contact with his victims via OmeTV, a social networking
platform that pairs users with one another via a video chat app. There is no indication any of
Bohac’s victims live in the local area.
HCSO ICAC Unit investigators do not anticipate further charges in the case.
