Forsyth County Tax Commissioner Matthew Ledbetter has died. County spokesman Russell Brown said Sunday night Ledbetter died unexpectedly Saturday at his home. He was 59.
He served nearly 21 years consecutively in the office. Following his re-election in the 2024 general election, Ledbetter was serving in his sixth term which was slated to run until December 31, 2028. He was a graduate of Forsyth Central High School and the University of Georgia.
