Heat Advisory for Monday

A Heat Advisory has been issued for Hall, Banks, Jackson, Barrow, Gwinnett and Forsyth counties and many more to the south of here. The National Weather Service (NWS) says it will be in effect noon-8:00 p.m.

Forecasters are calling for heat values of 106-112 in the affected areas which “may cause heat Illnesses.

What you should do:

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
