The unemployment rate in Hall County in May was 2.6%, three-tenths of a percent more than April. A year ago, the rate was 2.7%.
The state Labor Department (GDOL) also reports that the county’s labor force increased by 215 over the past month and 1,815 over the year, reaching 111,576.
Hall County finished the month with 108,702 employed residents. That number decreased by 124 over the month and increased by 1,917 from the same time a year ago and ended May with 109,800 jobs. That number decreased by 100 from the previous month and increased by 400 from the same time last year.
