*Atlanta Police say they’re investigating after a video surfaced showing several officers shoving and tackling a man during an arrest. The video was posted yesterday by the social content account of Georgia Followers. The video appears to be from Tuesday night after the Kai Cenat Streamer University event.
*Gwinnett County is taking steps to combat homelessness. The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved the creation of a ten-member Homeless Task Force. The task force will hold monthly meetings and serve as community representatives to identify service gaps, gather public input, review data, and find best practices .
*A new program at South Georgia State College is working with high school graduates to help them polish their basketball skills while earning college credits. Flight 88 Elite honors former Georgia Tech and NFL player Demaryius Thomas, who died from a seizure disorder in 2021. Those accepted to the program attend classes, work out and practice every day, maintaining their NCAA eligibility while staying in the dorms on the campus in Douglas.
*Deputies in Seminole County say they had to take a scaly suspect into custody in the Arrowhead Estates community. Deputies were called to a home in that community early yesterday after an alligator was found in a yard. The deputies took action after learning that the nearest Wildlife Management Officer was at least an hour and a half away. They used duct tape and cloth to bind the alligator before safely releasing it in Spring Creek.
