7:45 A.M. SUNDAY UPDATE:
A spokesman for the state Department of Natural Resources said Sunday morning the body of Terrell Shelton, 22, of Pendergrass was pulled from Lake Lanier shortly before 11:30 Saturday night and confirms that another body was found earlier in the week.
Shelton had been missing since about 3:00 Saturday afternoon when he “went under” while attempting to swim to a nearby island,” Lt. Adam Loudermilk said.
Meanwhile, Lt. Loudermilk said that earlier discovery occurred in another part of the lake. This was on Tuesday.
“At approximately 6 p.m. Game Wardens were notified of a body floating in a cove near Longwood Park in Gainesville,” Loudermilk said. “Once they arrived on scene along with the Hall County coroner they recovered a black male from the water. The victim was sent to the medical examiner’s office to verify a positive identification and to determine a cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.”

State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) game wardens and Hall County authorities were on the scene of a drowning in Lake Lanier early Saturday evening, according to a DNR spokesman.
Lt. Adam Loudermilk said the search is underway in the Robinson Park area of the county.
“Game wardens are currently utilizing sonar to search for the missing person,” Lt. Loudermilk said. “Terrell Shelton, a 22-year-old male from Pendergrass, was attempting to swim to a nearby island when he went under.”
DNR got the call about 3:00 Saturday afternoon.
