A Gillsville man is free on bonds totaling $11,800 following his arrested in Banks County late Wednesday night following a violent domestic incident in Hall County earlier in the evening.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputies responded to a residence on Turning Leaf Drive around 9:30 p.m. after the female victim called 911 to report Gerardo Hinojosa, 20, had entered her home while she was sleeping and began arguing with her. Deputies determined Hinojosa had previously lived at the residence with the victim. The victim’s father had allowed Hinojosa to enter the residence to retrieve his belongings.
The investigation determined that during the course of the argument Hinojosa began throwing items around the residence. He damaged a drum set inside the house and also threw the victim’s iPhone into some trees outside the house. When the victim tried to stop him, Hinojosa grabbed her, pushing her into a corner and grabbing her by the throat. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
After the assault, Hinojosa took a number of items belonging to the victim, including clothing, a wallet, $60 cash and two ID cards; he then left the residence in his vehicle. Banks County deputies located Hinojosa around 10:20 p.m. in their jurisdiction and returned him to Hall County.
Hinojosa was booked at the Hall County Jail just before 11:30 p.m. on felony charges of aggravated assault and second degree criminal damage to property (both under the Family Violence Act) and misdemeanor theft by taking. He also was charged with third degree child cruelty because a minor child was in the home at the time of the incident.”
He was released on bond Thursday.
