A Gainesville man says he lost thousands of dollars in an immigration scam that occurred in recent weeks.
The 34-year-old filed a report with city police earlier this week.
“Victim alleges he sent $65,000 to an immigration attorney he found on Facebook, never got green card,” a spokesman for Gainesville Police said in an email releasing details of the incident Friday.
The actual amount is listed in the police report is $65,360.
