The way has been cleared for a 125-unit housing development on 56 acres between Pinetree Way and Mechanicsville Road in Dahlonega.
The Dahlonega Nugget reports that the city council’s recent vote approving the plans was unanimous despite some concerns over how much traffic it would generate.
Twenty-five years ago, a 500,00-square-foot commercial development had been planned on the site but that never came to be.
The council also approved a list of conditions on the types and appearances of the houses.
