A Riverdale man is charged with one count of aggravated sexual battery in a Hall County case that involves incidents with a pre-teen that go back more than a year and a half, according to the sheriff’s office.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:.
The HCSO Protective Transport Unit took custody of Dontayvius Cartrell Glass, 19, on Friday morning at the DeKalb County Jail and returned him to Gainesville where he is being held without bond.
The case was first reported to deputies on Aug. 29, 2024. A school counselor notified a school resource officer after the victim disclosed the incident.
The case was assigned to investigators, and a forensic interview with the victim was conducted on Sept. 16, 2024. According to initial details, the male suspect committed the crime at the victim’s northeast Hall County home on May 22, 2022. The victim was 12 years old at the time.
Investigators then began attempting to determine the suspect’s full identity and location for interview purposes. The victim no longer had contact with him. Investigators made multiple attempts over the next year and a half to confirm the suspect’s full identity and locate him, including work by the HCSO Intelligence Unit.
Earlier this spring, investigators identified Glass as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant charging him with one count of aggravated sexual battery.
The case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
