Late-night traffic accident closes Old Cornelia Highway

Old Cornelia Highway was closed for a time last night and early today because of a single-vehicle accident.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported about 1:30 this morning that the road had reopened.

“Old Cornelia Highway is closed to traffic in the area of MG Drive (in between Joe Chandler Road and White Sulphur Road) because of a single-vehicle traffic accident,” deputies reported. “The vehicle went off the roadway and down a steep embankment. Wreckers are on the scene retrieving the wrecked car.”

The road was reopened about 1:30 this morning. No other details were immediately available.
