Get ready for more ‘pain at the pump’

Brian Kemp is lifting the suspension of the state’s gas tax, which expires Wednesday.

“With oil prices now holding relatively steady, the gas tax suspension will expire at 11:59 pm tomorrow, while the state also keeps a financial eye toward any unexpected needs in the future,” a spokesperson for Kemp said Monday.

The governor had already extended it two weeks.

The tax is 33.3 cents a gallon for gasoline and 37.3 cents for diesel.
