The father of the newly married man who died in that Friday night helicopter crash in Dawson County says it was his new daughter-in-law who told him of his son’s death, according to Atlanta News First.
Dave and Jesni Fiji had been married just hours before the crash at a Dawsonville wedding venue and were headed to Atlanta where they planned to spend the night before leaving the next morning on their honeymoon. In addition to Dave Fiji, a Delta Airlines First Officer, the pilot, identified Monday as Nikhil Nargundkar, 28, of Cobb County, was killed.
The bride survived the crash with cuts but no broken bones and is recovering at the Gainesville hospital.
It reportedly took rescuers six hours to reach the wreckage because of the rugged terrain.
