On the heels of the announcement earlier this week that Standard Service in downtown Gainesville is closing tomorrow, comes word that another downtown restaurant has shut its doors for good. Kelly’s Tavern, located on E.E. Butler Parkway near Church’s Fried Chicken, has already closed, according to a message on its website.

Standard Service has announced in an Instagram post that they will be closing on May 31 after four years of serving Gainesville.
“Our biggest thank you goes to our staff and the community that supported us through the years. Opening on the heels of a pandemic and navigating these rocky times has been wildly difficult, which led us to this decision.
“Our time has come to an end. There will be another chapter for this space, but for us it’s time to move on. Come out to celebrate our wonderful staff and enjoy what we’ve been serving for the past four years.
