A temporary detour on Fran Mar Drive was implemented Wednesday as part of the Sardis Road Connector project.
In addition, the Sardis School bus entrance will be closed during the week next week allow crews to complete “full-depth reconstruction” and grade adjustments for the new road connection.
The closure was scheduled during summer break to help minimize impacts to the Hall County School District and the surrounding area.
Drivers should expect to see detour signs and temporary traffic control throughout the area. Portable message boards will also be in place for motorists.
County officials urge motorist affected by these changes and this work to slow down in work zones, follow the posted detours, and use caution while traveling through the area.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change, they add.
