Flood Watch extended through Tuesday night

The Flood Watch that includes Gainesville and most of north Georgia has been extended through late Tuesday night.

“Multiple rounds of rainfall are expected to move across the area through Monday evening,” the weather service said Monday afternoon. “An (unusually) moist environment over north Georgia will support high rain rates (1-2″+/hour) which will lead to increased chances for localized flash flooding.”

Warm, humid, and wet weather will continue throughout the week, the weather service says, with daily chances for showers and storms. Expect high temperatures in the 78-84 range.
