A barricaded man surrendered to Barrow County authorities over the weekend following a standoff with officers. A sheriff’s office news release issued Sunday says the incident occurred Saturday on Box Circle in Winder.
“Following an extended law enforcement response, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team arrived on scene and assisted (Winder Police) with the operation,” according to the release. “The suspect, identified as Alexander Agapi, surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without incident.”
No one was injured during the incident.
Agapi was arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threats. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
The release did not say why officers went to the residence in the first place.
