A Gainesville man remained in the Hall County Jail late Friday afternoon following his arrest by Gainesville Police Tuesday night, charged by county authorities with forgery for allegedly give booking officers a false name, not once, but five times. Ernie Noland Riley, 54, is also charged with giving false information to an officer (2 counts) and trespassing.
The scenario unfolded like this, the sheriff’s office reports: “During booking, Riley identified himself to jail staff by providing a false name. Furthermore, he signed three fingerprint cards and two other booking documents with the fictitious name.”
His bond has been set at $32,400.
