GDOT okays road work in Banks, Habersham, Lumpkin counties

The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) recently awarded contracts for 28 projects worth about $107.2 million including work in Banks, Habersham and Lumpkin counties.

The Banks County contract calls for nearly ten miles of concrete rehab on I-85 from U.S. 441 TO Georgia 63. The estimated completion date is March 31 next year.

In Habersham County, construction of a roundabout at State Routes 197 and 385 at a cost of $3.3 million with an estimated completion date of September 30, 2028.

And the Lumpkin County contract is for 3.7 miles of resurfacing of Georgia 9 between Ben Higgins Road and Georgia 60 to be completed by the end of next March.
