“…White County Deputies responded to a residence on EB Road in Cleveland in reference to a report of an attempted vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, deputies met with the homeowner, who reported hearing activity outside of the residence and observing an unknown male subject near a vehicle parked on the property. The homeowner stated the subject appeared to pour a substance around the vehicle and ignite it before fleeing the area on foot. The homeowner was able to extinguish the fire before it caused significant damage.

Thursday morning, investigators with the White County Sheriff’s Office conducted a neighborhood canvass in the area as part of the ongoing investigation. As a result of that canvass, investigators were able to identify the juvenile suspect responsible for the incident.

The juvenile was later interviewed at the White County Sheriff’s Office, where he confessed to attempting to set the vehicle on fire. He has been charged with Arson and Terroristic Threats and was sent to juvenile detention.”
