While the drought in Georgia remains about the same as it was a week ago, the level of Lake Lanier is down another tenth of a foot.
Despite the rains over past seven days, the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) reported Thursday that conditions remained the same, even along the Florida border in southeast Georgia where the wildfires have been raging.
The level of Lake Lanier, meanwhile, according to the Corps of Engineers, is now 1065.9. That’s the lowest it’s been since October 23, 2025.
