GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

On Monday, a Trooper from the Gainesville Post of the Georgia State Patrol was dispatched at 9:45 PM to assist Hall County Deputies on Spout Springs Rd.

Hall Co Deputies had conducted a traffic stop on a Subaru Impreza for window tint and a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During the stop, deputies observed smoke billowing from the vehicle. Deputies removed the driver from the vehicle and conducted a probable cause search, locating freshly burned marijuana and a handgun within the passenger compartment.

The Trooper was requested to conduct Standardized Field Sobriety/Impaired Driver evaluations and determined the driver, Moises Vasquez, to be driving under the influence of drugs, and placed him under arrest. The Trooper did a second search of the vehicle and located several bags of marijuana individually labeled for distribution.

Mr. Vasquez was complaining of chest pain and was transported to NEGA Medical Center – Gainesville. Once cleared, Mr. Vasquez was transported to the Hall County jail and released into HCSO custody without further incident.

Mr. Vasquez was cited for Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, DUI, and window tint violation.”
