A truck driver from Barrow County was charged with that Monday morning rush-hour wreck south of Gainesville, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
GSP NARRATIVE:
“At approximately 6:15, a trooper responded to SR 60 (Candler Road), north of Candler Park Drive, to investigate a traffic crash.
Upon arrival, the trooper determined a 2022 Kenworth T880 pulling a 48-foot roll-off trailer, was traveling west in the Cottrell Inc. exit located at 2125 Candler Road. The driver, Justin Hutchinson, 42, of Statham, was preparing to turn left onto SR 60. A 2016 Infiniti QX60, driven by Richard Harris, 69, of Hoschton, was traveling north on SR 60 approaching the Cottrell Inc. exit.
Hutchinson began turning left onto SR 60 and failed to yield while entering the roadway. Harris then struck the left side of the trailer with the left front bumper and left side of the Infiniti QX60. Harris was transported from the scene for treatment with complaint of injuries.
Hutchinson not injured and was cited for Failure to Yield while Entering the Roadway.”
