There seems to be no end to the dry conditions that have Georgia on the road toward a historic drought this year.
“After early May featured active weather with periods of much-needed rain, we will likely see another stretch of dry weather (the next 6-10 days),” the National Weather Service (NWS) says in a new advisory.
“This does not guarantee that we will be rain-free. It does seem likely that rain chances
will be very low across most of the area. Drought conditions will persist, even in spite of recent wet weather.”
A national map shows that the only two sections of the country forecast to have below normal rainfall during the period are the Southeast and parts California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and Oregon.
