Pumping the brakes on development; Wildfire update; Is Ga. turning ‘blue’

*One of Georgia’s fastest growing counties could be closed to development. Bryan Co. (in the Savannah area) has been booming since 2009. It’s a magnet for every kind of manufacturing from vinyl products to the Hyundai plant. But residents are telling leaders to pump the brakes over strained infrastructure, home prices, and bad traffic.  

*Fire crews say the Highway 82 wildfire in south Georgia was 90% contained as of Saturday night. Now crews are working to control erosion and begin environment and restoration cleanup. Steady rain Saturday helped control the fire which has burned more than 22,000 acres.  

*The Peach State might be turning blue – blueberry blue. Georgia is becoming one of the top blueberry producers in the country. The state produces more blueberries by weight than peaches. Georgia produced 116.7 million pounds of blueberries last year and growers say the future looks rosy.
