*The cost of attending the University of North Georgia (UNG) is going up, at least for some students. The state Board of Regents Tuesday approved an increase – $2,145 to $2,535 per semester – for two-year students. The rate remains the same for four-year students. *Brenau University Monday announced the naming of the Jacobs College of Business and Media, “recognizing the family’s enduring philanthropic support of the institution, their legacy of community service, and their role as pioneers who have shaped the media landscape for 77 years.” The late patriarch, John W. Jacobs, Jr., was a Gainesville native and founder of Jacobs Media, who was a lifelong supporter of Brenau. He also served on the Brenau Board of Trustees for several years, including terms as its chairman.
