Two men were arrested last week for the theft of a pontoon boat trailer from Aqualand Marina earlier this year, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“The suspects, Kenneth Todd Norris, 63, of Flowery Branch and Timothy Brian Jenkins, 54, of Danielsville, each were charged with one count of felony theft by taking.
The owner of the trailer first reported the theft via the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) online Police to Citizen Portal in January. In March, the case was assigned to a property crimes investigator with HCSO’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
After obtaining video footage from the marina, the investigator was able to determine Jenkins was the owner of the pickup truck used to tow the trailer from the scene the afternoon of January 11. The investigation determined both Jenkins and Norris were in the vehicle at the time of the theft.
The investigator was able to make contact with both suspects. Both admitted to taking the trailer, but claimed they thought the trailer had been discarded. The stolen trailer, valued at $8,000, was located in a storage facility on Lanier Islands Parkway; Norris had rented the storage unit.
The investigator obtained warrants for the arrests of both men. Norris was arrested April 7 at his residence on Lights Ferry Road in Flowery Branch, while Jenkins was transported from Franklin County on April 8.
Jenkins posted a bond of $5,700 and was released from jail on April 10. Norris remains in the Hall County Jail on holds from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.”
