10:15 A.M. FRIDAY UPDATE:
“A May 2023 case, victim was 14 at the time of the crime, victim alleges she was at a residence of a know person, while at the house Fulgenico-Reyes allegedly committed immoral sexual acts to her against her will,” Gainesville Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook said. “Warrants were obtained in the case, but the suspect fled to Puerto Rico. Once located in Puerto Rico he was detained and extradited back to Gainesville, Georgia.”
9:30 A.M. FRIDAY ORIGINAL POST:
A 35-year-old man has been returned from the Caribbean to Gainesville to face nearly a dozen charges, including rape and child molestation.
“This individual was extradited from Puerto Rico,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derrick Booth said Friday. “The rape and molestation charges are from three years ago and belong to the Gainesville Police Department. The others are underlying charges for 2023 and 2024 bench warrants (issued by the courts).”
Mainer Stevenson Fulgenico-Reyes is charged with:
*Rape
*Child molestation
*Possession of meth
*Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
*Failure to appear
*Tampering with evidence
*Failure to appear for a traffic violation
*Brake lights and turn signal violations
*Driving while unlicensed or with an expired license
He was booked into the county jail Thursday night.
A message has been left for Gainesville Police asking for details concerning the rape and molestation charges.
