The Jackson County School System (JCSS) has been named the winner of the first Grab the Tab grant from Zee Zees. The money will be used to wipe away all current student meal debt within the system, which is currently $73,000.
Representatives of Zee Zees will visit Jefferson sometime this month to award the system a check for the grant. The company is awarding one such grant a week through the end of April.
When she was told about the grant in a video call with a company rep, the school system’s Taylor Blake declared “Oh, my god! I’m literally shaking right now! You just made my who school year.”
