Congressman Andrew Clyde (R-Jackson County) recently announced the winners of this year’s 9th District Congressional Art Competition during a reception at his Gainesville office. And a Gainesville High School student placed second.
First Place: Renee Song’s “Hand in Hand, Into Tomorrow” | North Gwinnett High School; Second Place: Calli Carlisle’s “Chattahoochee River: Horseshoe” | Gainesville High School; Third Place: Ellis Jeon’s “Golden Hour” | Seckinger High School.
As the winner, Song’s artwork will soon be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the Capitol building, where it will remain for one year alongside winning submissions from every congressional district across the country.
Each spring, members of the House sponsor this contest and have done so since 1982.
