A tractor-trailer driver remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond following his arrest Fridy on DUI and other charges.
CMV NARRATIVE:
“…A Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Officer observed a driver using his cellphone while operating his vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at a nearby gas station. During (an) inspection, the Officer noted signs of impairment, including heavy breathing and the strong odor of alcohol.
The driver admitted to consuming six beers the night before, leading to his consent to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs).
Multiple indicators of impairment were observed during the tests, including difficulty with balance and coordination. Upon further assessment, a preliminary breath test returned a positive reading of 0.44. and the driver was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI, distracted driving, and a driver qualification violation.”
